The War on Wolves will not be ending soon. Wolves across the U.S., Canada, and elsewhere need your long-term commitment to act frequently in opposition to standard wildlife management practices. Anti-wolf, coyote, and fox policies are just part of the overall corruption of state and federal wildlife management agencies. We have to change this.We will post our 2014-15 Campaign list Sunday. It includes steps to take in the reformation of wildlife management agency mission statements, legislated mandates, and policies.
The Green Vegans response is the vegan new human ecology: the end of animal agriculture; fewer people on the planet; and our insistence agencies operate for the best interests of ecosystems, not the demands from fringe groups—the hunters and trappers. We must end grazing on public lands regulated by the Bureau of Land Management and the U.S. Forest Service. Native herbivore wildlife and the species that prey upon them belong there, not livestock. Humanity has to withdraw from, not continuously expand into and occupy, wildlife habitat. Thanks to “Exposing the Big Game” / Jim Robertson for alerting us to the Defenders of Wildlife action.
According to Reuters, 23 coyotes, zero wolves, were killed as a result of “The First Annual 2-Day Wolf and Coyote Derby” held in Salmon, Idaho. Though the media states some 250 hunters participated in the hunt, earlier reports noted that many of them came to support the organizer but not actually go out with guns to shoot wolves and coyotes. It’s unclear if these non-hunting supporters paid the various entry fees to the organization responsible for offering prizes, Idaho for Wildlife”. Though listed as a state nonprofit organization, they do not appear on any IRS sources as a tax-exempt, federally recognized nonprofit organization.

Green Vegans will be following up with responses to our letters from the Idaho Attorney General’s Office section that represents Idaho Fish and Game, and the Idaho Department of Taxation. That’s it for 2013. We will carry this forward to 2014 and increase our efforts in Washington State and Oregon. Thank you for your support.
